Summertime Daydreams

It's my turn for a rotation in the sick bed this time around, and I am passing the time by reading magazines, wearing wool socks, and desperately trying to convince myself that resting is a good thing.  And, I must confess, I have been daydreaming about summer, which is just almost almost here.

Some exciting things on our horizon:

::  The pool opens this weekend.  To say I am excited is an understatement.
::  A trip down to Seven Oaks Lavender Farm.  I have a feeling we'll be more efficient pickers this year now that we have an (almost) one year old and not a 2 week old.
:: Prairie Home Companion at Wolftrap: the harbinger of summer, in my book.
::  This is the year for the hot air balloon festival.  I can feel it.
::  Many, many family bike rides.  We spent the other weekend riding around together, and it worked beautifully: Hugo on my bike, the girls in a trailer with Ben.  There are too many fun places to go.  Are you guys biking to work next Friday?  We are (well, we're biking to the pitstop with Ben and then coming back home in solidarity with our resident bike commuter).
::  Peaches at the Friday farmer's market.  Ooh, I'm so excited.

What summer things have you been daydreaming about?

Love your summer list! Where is the Friday Farmers Market? We got to the Falls Church one on Saturdays, but it can get pretty crowded.

The lavender farm is also on my summer list as well as catching a few concerts at Wolf Trap. Happy (almost) Summer!

Lewinsville Park in McLean: it's definitely smaller than Falls Church, but nice due to the timing, and very low key. Happy summer to you too! Perhaps we'll bump into each other... I'm always surprised how small Northern Virginia is. :-)

Thanks so much - I'll have to check out the McLean Farmers Market!

Did you go to Canterbury Woods? Maybe you were in my younger brother's class? Or WTW or TJ? You seem familiar!

Anyway, it's fun to find another blogger in little ol' Falls Church! :)

I still can't believe we were at CW together! Such a small world.
