Yarn Along

Alright, I do have a question to all my fellow yarn-alongers. How do you find the time to both knit and read? Perhaps some are agile enough to do both at the same time? I want to know your secrets!

I have been knitting up a storm around here this past week, and am afraid to report that my book is more a representation of wishful thinking. For now, it's either knitting or reading. Or maybe I can convince Ben to read aloud to me? Yes, I'll have to work on that one.

This week I have a classic raglan pullover for Lily on my needles (which, I have been informed, will make me a true knitter upon successful completion), and after one stressful night working on double pointed needles because I didn't have the right size circular needles, it is now smooth sailing... circular needles really are so much easier. I can hardly wait to do the sleeves and collar!

Check out Ginny's page for more yarn along!

When you figure out the secret let me know! bravo for the sweater - they intimidate me so...

I love your gray! I did feel like I'd "made it" when I knit a raglan for Bea last year! I loved reading Little Bee.
My secret to reading is that I take a bath each night and read a chapter or so in the tub! That is one time that knitting isn't an option.

I also can either read, or knit...but not both! Looking at your stitches on that beautiful gray yarn I'd say you already are a 'true' knitter!

I can read and knit at the same time if it is a simple knitting pattern :) But usually I knit while watching TV or watching the kids or listening to audio books. And I read at other times. It helps that I am pretty fast at both knitting and reading...

Grey would make a great hand-me-down for a little brother :)

such a pretty gray! It will be so great! I fixed the reading/knitting problem by becoming an Audible audiobook person! It is so great to have that quiet time knitting while listening to a story.

Ha! I was just thinking this morning that I couldn't do the Yarn Along 'cause I am either on a knitting streak or a reading streak! I guess that's how it has to be with three littles.

Oh, I'm so glad I'm not alone on the reading/knitting issue! Yes, I think that a nice bath with a book sounds perfect, although these days even my baths seem to be shared. I did get a book on tape while at the library (appropriately named "winter Solstice"), so I'll have to give that a try!

Rachel, I must admit, I find myself knitting more and more gender neutral things just in case (by the way, do you think it's going to be a boy? I think you would have good guesses about these things). Maybe I'll have to crochet a flower to pin on it for Lily. ;-)

Oh honey, I'm an either or too! I knit during the day and read in bed for 5 seconds at night!

I can say that I definitely cannot knit and read at the same time *grin*. I can knit while watching tv but the reading I leave to bedtime or while I soak in the bath :) Love the grey that you are using! I have grey on my needles right now to for legwarmers :)
