Day trip...

to the local garden center. We came home with a trunk full of dirt (to finish up this lovely raised vegetable planter Ben built this weekend), but spent the morning wandering through aisles of azaleas, boxwoods, pansies, and so many others. Am I the only one who has a love affair with all of the amazing and beautiful plants that are out there? I think I fell in love with a dozen trees or so. And, for the children, one of the wonderful attractions are the many fish that the garden center carries. The koi hadn't made it to the fountain yet for the year, but we admired them in their warmed enclosures and Zosia announced that she needs a fishing pole so she can catch them and bring them home with us. Koi, beware.

So cute- our nursery also has koi and turtles so everyone loves going there- home depot not as much.

Oh, I totally misspelled koi! ;-) I knew it didn't feel right. Thanks for being my spellcheck.

Oh we love the garden center and I think I know the one you are speaking of. They have the best holiday decorations at Christmas time. And we often take a trip to our local garden center, especially on rainy days. The boys will just lounge on all the patio furniture. I love the pics of those happy faces. Look at that walker! She looks just like daddy!

Spring is for planting and I am dying to fill the empty pots next to my kitchen door! Perhaps this weekend we too can make a trip to the garden center for some bright blooms.

Oh I agree, it's the best daytrip! I think next time I'm packing a picnic and making a whole day of it.
