Yesterday morning was crisp and cool and beautiful. I was up before the kids and made a big pot of oatmeal (two cups of oats, four cups of water, half a cup of brown sugar, and a healthy sprinkling of chia seeds) which they quickly devoured. I bundled the children in sweaters and we enjoyed the morning air out on the deck. I really should make a warm breakfast more often, as we all seem to love it, especially as the weather cools down.
In other news, our sweet little Lily (that last picture! It so embodies her spirit!) has knocked and broken another front tooth. Does anyone remember when she lost her front tooth on her first birthday? This girl, she is spirited and fearless and altogether oblivious to her physical surroundings when she is in the pursuit of something she is excited about. I dare say very similar to her mother (and grandmother... I'm sure there's a whole lineage that goes back through the ages. Us fearless women.). So anyway, another tooth down, thankfully with no apparent discomfort. It is currently waiting to get extracted tomorrow. She might just get two new front teeth in the process, and if this is the case, she has requested that one be pink and the other purple. You can always dream, right?

I love these pictures! It's so cool to figure out who gets what feature from what parent—and with two cute parents like you and Ben, it's doubly entertaining!
