Pows and Wows

What is the saying?  Misfortunes come in threes?  Well we are off the hook now, I guess.  A small person split her chin.  A certain dog got a gash in her paw.  And Ben is home sick.  Luckily, all of this experience actually does count for something, and we've been able to handle it all with relative ease. Split chin?  Butterfly bandage, bandaid, "boo boo bunny" (which we use often and are quite thankful for) and avoiding water for a few days, and we're good to go.  Gash in the paw?  Hydrogen peroxide, gauze, and careful monitoring to make sure she doesn't chew.  Home sick?  Extra vitamin D, rest, and daily sinus rinses.

And of course in the midst of all of this there is incredible beauty and life all around us.  Zosia has been teaching us (because in her heart, this is really what she is: a teacher) all about butterflies.  Words like "painted lady" and "blue mournful" (which we learned is really blue morpho) float around the house.  And Hugo is so quick to smile.  He has a lot of joy, that one.

Okay, I have to go. Ben is due for a haircut tonight, and is taunting me with the sound of the clippers as he yells, "I'm cutting my own hair!"  I am actually really curious what is going on in there.

We would *love* it! I think this is just the perfect time to do it, too.
