The Tale of an Indoor Snowday

Yesterday was a snowday, but not quite the "go out and spend all morning sledding" sort of day. Rain, sleet, snow, all mixed together and coming down in the morning and then again in the afternoon.

So we...

Made mailboxes out of old cereal boxes covered in brown paper, and the spent a good two hours delivering mail to one another. I got to be the mailman.

and then made eggs, snakes, stamps, and who knows what else out of it.

Took a bath (not totally an honest picture... I hopped in with them right after taking it)

Ate popcorn (or "copporn," as Lily calls it) to our hearts' content.

Each picked out as many books as we could carry and read in bed.

The End.

Next up: the tale of on outdoor snowday (perhaps a little more exciting, although I'm not sure!).

Sounds like a most beautiful day! Stay warm and cozy! I think we are due for a round of post office at our house soon too!

Sounds so fun! And appropriate... not ice, nor rain, nor sleet nor hail--nothing stops the US mail (or the Collins mail, for that matter!). Enjoy the snow today!

How do you do it? You are amazing. I confess that I get tired of the same activity for 2 hours in a row. TV starts to look pretty attractive.

It's true, mail is a perfect theme for a day like yesterday! And amazingly, the real mail got delivered, too. Goodness, Rachel, you better believe both me and the kiddos weren't playing too intensively (I think I would make a horrible postal worker). A letter here, a phone call there, another letter here, a princess dress there. ;-)

This sounds like such a wonderful day. We had one of those today. The mailbox idea is brilliant!

What a great way to spend the day. Lots of great activities. Can't wait to see how today's activities compare. The boys were outside more than they were inside today.

Annie, glad to hear you and the boys were outside, too! It really was a wonderful day. Perhaps we'll get some pictures of snowmen?

oh a mailbox...would it fit a letter to a little girl?

Emily, of course! Although if a stream of mail starts coming, we just might have to put an extra mailbox out front. :-)
