February 2: I love

a purse that only fits my keys and a wallet. And, for that matter, craft projects that are cheap and doable, like this buttercup sewing pattern (our poor printer is sick so I did not actually print out the pattern but eyeballed it... and aside for the fact that the mouth of the bag could be a little wider, I'm thrilled. And I made it with some fabric I picked up at the thrift store for 99 cents).
And I really do love that it's a small purse, one that only fits a couple of small items. Because as a mom I think that often I assume that I always need the big old bag, filled with snacks, distractions, diapers, and who knows what else. But this purse reminds me that there are moments that exist only for me. Moments when I can slip out by myself, with only my wallet and my keys. Moments that I can go to the store, the coffee shop, the bookstore, free as a bird, with a pretty purse on my shoulder and two free hands.
A sweet reminder of the fact that even as I am expanded and deepened by my love for these wonderful creatures I have been entrusted with, there's something that remains at my core that is uniquely me.

And don't forget to check out some more love over here.

Oh, it is so beautiful. I love what it represents too! The giant bag weighs me down in more ways than one some days!

So true, love that bag. My Momma-Bag gets big and weighty too-- how come that always happens?

Wonderful!

Adele that is awesome and you made it so quickly. I am impressed that you have the time to create all that you do with two little ones. And I LOVE the fabric and 99cents is the best price ever!

Great bag! I am so sick of our diaper bag. Somedays I make the switch to my bag and it makes me oh so happy!
