February 13: I love

a romantic dinner at home, waited on by two very small and cute girls. Last year Ben and I miraculously got away overnight-- our first (and only) solo overnight trip between the births of Zosia and Lily... I was something like seven months pregnant with Lily, but it didn't keep us from having a lovely little trip. This year, we set our sights on something a little more do-able when you have a 10-month old nursing infant on your hands, but our hiking/brunch date got snowed out two weekends in a row. Tonight, we settled for a little Valentines day celebration at home, which proved lovely: a fire, some wine, some homemade pierogies, which I taught Zosia how to make. And a box of chocolates. There may or may not be one missing from the top right hand corner.... strange.

Wishing you a wonderful Valentine's day!

A perfect evening!

We had our own little Valentine's celebration tonight. I went to the grocery this morning for staple items and came home with some nice butcher shop steaks, a bottle of wine, and some fancy cheese -- I justified it all by saying that it's less expensive than going out. It was fun to include the boys in our nicer than usual dinner -- they should feel the love too!

Hmmm, just think, next year it will be ME with a nursing, 10-month old baby girl!

Funny how those chocolates go missing, isn't it?

A sweet celebration! Happy Valentine's Day! Can you teach me how to make the perogies next? ;)

Those pierogies look fantastic! One day I'll teach myself, until then I'll have to wait until our Christmas Eve dinners back home.
Looks like you had a lovely evening.

Can you post your perogie recipe?? I love them and have never made them from scratch.

Yes, I am happy to give a little pierogi tutorial... it will give me a good excuse to make them again this week. It takes a little planning, but is quite easy. Happy Valentine's day!
