Feb 17: I love

new to us toys. I think most of our most treasured wooden toys have been found at the thrift store. They are beautiful, well-crafted, and usually cost one or two dollars. I can only imagine what they would cost new! Above: a wooden number "puzzle" that both girls have been enjoying and a little peak at Lily's pet caterpillar (she has actually learned the sound it makes when it rolls and reacts appropriately whenever she hears anyone is rolling her caterpillar). ;-)

So cute! Both the toys, and the smiling Lily! :)

How funny about Lily and her caterpillar. Just wait until she has a little brother vying for her toys too!

She is going to be quite the experienced sharer with all of these kids around... or just territorial (perhaps a little of each is best). We'll see. ;-)

Oh my gosh, we had a toy similar to the caterpillar and it 'went away' and the noise drove me and my husband batty (particularly my husband). Ours was an alligator and it was lovely too--I hav no problem donating the plastic stuff, but this one was hard for me to part with...

The funny (and perhaps lucky) thing is that the sound is actually a very quiet one... but even from across the house, my little Lily can identify it each time.
