Household Yin and Yang

It's a bit of a social contract around here. The yin and yang of our household, if you will. He has the coffee ready in the morning when I stumble out of bed, and in return, I have the dinner ready when he comes home from work. It really seems quite fair and balanced to me, because doesn't everything seem a little peppier after a cup of coffee?

And I have been particularly enjoying our latest adventure in coffee using a french press-- very flavorful, sort of halfway between coffee and espresso, and I usually just put in a quarter cup of coffee to three quarters cup of warm milk. Delicious!

We love our coffee press, too. Today my two year old and I ground whole fair trade, organic beans for my husband and I to have after lunch. Yum!

yum...french presses are the best...an a little tip, if you like cinnamon...add a pinch to your dry coffee grounds before you pour the hot water over top....mind blowing I promise.

Lovely description of a sweet part of your relationship! I have a french press mug that I bought for myself as a birthday gift. It allows me a perfect cup of coffee to get me through the day at work instead of the yucky teachers' lounge stuff! ;)

We too are french press people. If you are grind your own coffee people it's actually easier...since we used to make our own espresso each AM this is totall our compromise with time....

Ooh, I love that cinnamon idea! Yes, I think aside from wonderful coffee, one of the things I love the most is that our coffee maker has been removed from the kitchen, freeing up some precious counter space in our little kitchen.

Oh you two do have one of the best yin and yang relationships I know. Ahh makes me feel good to see such love, and I know that both the coffee and dinner are made with it.

We work like that too, a little give a little take. We actually don't even talk much about it anymore, but we just have a rhythm together. We should have after 11 years (only 6 married)!
