February 8: I love

the way that natural light transforms from season to season. This bright white layer of snow has transformed everything: shadows, the quality of light streaming in the window, the color of skin and sky outside. It feels like I'm seeing the world through newly tinted glasses-- or more like I'm seeing the world without any glasses at all for the first time in months. I was struck by the long dark zebra stripes across my backyard this morning-- white snow and black shadows of those poplar trees that tower over us. I must say that I am humbled and awed by the beauty and variety of creation-- constantly something to delight in.

How lovely to see all that snow through your eyes when mine have been seeing it so differently lately. I've been seeing the light on the snow as glaring and cold. They gray skies as cold and dreary. Thanks for the fresh perspective!

This is a beautiful perspective. Thank you for sharing...

I noticed the "new" light in the house this morning, too. Like a fresh coat of paint on the walls and the ground.

Now that is so nicely put. I do feel like today the snow is so beautiful, now that the shoveling is done and the sun is shining bright. It's still so pristine.

Isn't it nice to notice the little things in the world, like shadows and light on the snow> Lovely picture and words too.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Glad the balloons put a smile on your little ones face! I am enjoying your I love posts so far. Really like the purse one and the hair cutting one. I just bought some semi-pro scissors in an aid to same money and cut better.
Hope the rest of your day is wonderful.

The zebra stripes are really so pretty. I bet you are loving the snow. We didn't get much of it...
