February 15: I love

my first set of china! Purchased for 25 bucks from the thrift store this morning... but still, I feel cultured and lady-like... I'm short a couple of big plates, but I'm hoping that since they're white, I'll be able to find some similar enough to pass. Should I have a debutante tea party?

Don't forget to see what's brewing through my love button to the right!

What a score! And it is beautiful. One of my favorite things about the dishes we use everyday is that it is the china Jeff's uncle bought us for our wedding. It's pure white bone china and I love the simplicity of it. I really like how your new china looks with the blue walls and the few red pieces up on the shelf. If you have a tea party make sure my invitation gets put in the mail. Let's try and get together soon!

Oh! A great find to be sure! I love the whiteness, and the simplicity of form and shape. This set will be perfect for any season, and you can dress it up or down.

I'm curious, do you know the pattern? I wonder if it's vintage...

I use bone white china every day too and I love it. It is hard to see a pice break but it is worth it to get use out of it all of the time. We have done some mix and matching too so I dont really worry about the missing pieces. White is just so classic and a tea party sounds so nice!

It is gorgeous. Congrats on a terrific find! It really does look lovely with the bit of red on those open shelves.

Glad to see we're in good company! And at first I was thinking about using it for company, but I think you ladies may have convinced me to go for the day-to-day. Christian, the back says "Schonwald made in germany," but I haven't been able to find the mark online... Antiques Roadshow, perhaps? ;-)
